Donate Body to Science. Check. When seventeen-year-old Kaitlyn checked the box, she never suspected she’d have her life–and her body–stolen from her. She awakens one day in a secret laboratory to discover that her body is now half-robot and is forced to hide her own secret: that she still has human emotions and a human mind. If the scientists who made her find out, they’ll erase what remains of who she was. Kaitlyn finds an unlikely ally in Lucas, a handsome, brilliant scientist who can’t get over the guilt he feels knowing she was once a vibrant, beautiful young woman. He never expected a science project to affect him the way she does. As he tries to help her rediscover her past, he finds himself falling for the brave girl struggling to find her place and acceptance between the human and computer worlds. *For mature teens due to some sexual content.

My Review:

This is the first time I've read any of Julia Crane's books and I really enjoyed it. Freak Of Nature is a refreshing, fun read. You seriously can't get past that cover it's just eye catching!

We meet Kaitlyn an average 17yr old girl out and about when she heard a woman scream, doing the right thing she does everything she can to help out this woman. Only, things don't go the way she'd hoped and the attacker turns to her. Having donated her body to science she finds herself reborn. Half human half cyborg, it's not something you'd think would happen.

The beginning for me started out a little slow, it took me a few chapters to find the flow but once I did... I was swept away.
Throughout the story we're along the journey of Kaitlyn rediscovering herself. I really felt for her, everything she'd gone through, everything she was now going through.
Kate finds herself having feelings for one of her scientists, Lucas. Who by the way, is really sweet!

Each character brought a certain spark to the story. Crane certainly knows how to lure you in with her captivating storyline, unique and fun characters, twists and turns and yes, even a *cliffhanger* ending that'll have you coming back for more.

I think I've already given away enough lol. I really enjoyed this book and I recommend it to anyone who's looking for something new and unique to read.

I'll definitely be keeping an eye out on Julia Crane's books!

Here's A few Q&A

Q) What are you working on now?

A) I’m really excited, because I just started Rourk. A continuation of Keegan’s Chronicles. Rourk will be deeper and darker.

Q) Who is your favourite hero/heroine/character from your own books? What about of all time?

A) That’s a hard one. Right now it’s a tossup between Rourk and Kaitlyn. Of all time, goodness, I would have to say Dagny from Atlas Shrugged. Her character has always stuck with me and I’ve read the book at least three times.

Q) If you could have take one of your book boyfriends out on a date in the real world, who would it be & where would you go?

A) I would say Rourk, but he’s far too young for me, so Keegan’s Father Richard. A lot of his characteristics resemble my husbands. Ideal date would be a long weekend somewhere I’ve never been and a lot of time outdoors. No kids!
